The BMW Group will purchase Marine waste plastics at ports around the world and process recycled automotive plastic interior and exterior trim parts

The BMW Group will purchase discarded plastic fishing nets and ropes

at ports around the world.In partnership with Danish company PLASTIX,

BMW processes fishing nets and ropes into recycled plastic pellets that

can be used for injection molding of interior and exterior trim parts.

In addition, these discarded nets contain nylon components that can

be used to make the synthetic yarn ECONYL, which is used in the floor

MATS of the BMW iX and the new BMW X1.
