The first high-end "Made in China" nylon 66 fiber production line will be put into operation in June.

The pilot production line project for 2,500 tons of special nylon 66 filament, invested and constructed by Guihua 3542 Textile Co., Ltd., is progressing smoothly. It is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of June this year. This will be the first independently controllable demonstration production line for high-performance nylon 66 fibers in China, filling the gap in the industrialization of domestic high-end nylon 66 fibers and breaking the technological monopoly of the West.
The total investment of this project is 71.58 million yuan. It is located in the Textile Industrial Park of Huapai Town, Xiangzhou District, Xiangyang City. The project covers an area of 6,800 square meters and has a construction area of 12,000 square meters. Since its launch in August 2024, the project construction has been advancing rapidly. Currently, the main structure of the factory has been completed, and the equipment installation team has entered the site for construction. The installation of water, electricity and gas is also proceeding in an orderly manner.
Special nylon 66 filament, due to its high strength and low-temperature resistance properties, has become the core raw material for military and police protection, as well as fire-fighting and rescue equipment. However, for a long time, the production technology of this product has been monopolized by the West, and China's high-end nylon 66 fibers have relied on imports. To change this situation, Guohua 3542 Textile Co., Ltd. jointly with the Shanghai Research Institute of Xinxing International Huaxia carried out technological research and development. After nearly 100 rounds of process verification, they successfully broke through key technologies such as uniform melt dispersion, stepwise temperature control, and multi-level high-speed drawing, and developed a continuous, efficient and stable spinning production process technology, reaching the international leading level.
"This project uses domestic raw materials and equipment. The key production equipment is customized and supplied by domestic renowned enterprises, enabling the entire process from fiber cutting to finished filament to be fully domesticated." Mao Yijun, the director of the project department of Guohua 3542 Textile Co., Ltd.园区， introduced. After the project's trial run， the fiber strength， flame retardancy, and yarn consistency indicators are expected to reach international advanced levels, providing stable and reliable industrial support for the country's major strategic demands to achieve self-control.
