Enronly PA is used to manufacture a new generation of electric vehicle charging gun housing
2024-02-28

Recently, Enronli announced the launch of innovative materials Akulon® PA6 and PA66 for new energy vehicle charging guns, bringing new performance improvements to electric vehicle charging equipment.
At present, the manufacturing of new energy vehicle charging plug shell mainly uses polyamide 6, 66(PA6, PA66), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and polycarbonate (PC) and other thermoplastic materials. However, in order to improve electrical and fire safety, these materials often require the addition of flame retardants, which not only increases the cost, but also reduces the mechanical properties, resulting in plugs that are more vulnerable to damage during daily wear and tear.
To solve this problem, Enronil's Akulon® PA6 and PA66 material solutions strike a good balance between mechanical strength, aesthetics and cost, ensuring that the plug remains in good condition throughout its service life.

Akulon® materials are known to show better damage resistance in impact and vehicle rolling tests than polyamides containing flame retardants. The material also has a wide operating temperature range and is suitable for outdoor use.
In addition,Akulon® series materials meet the standards required for enhanced fire and electrical safety performance of fast-charging internal plugs, including a relative leakage trace index (CTI) of up to 600V and a UL 94 V-0 rating. This range of materials is fully compliant with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)62196 standard and is supported by the UL Yellow Card, helping manufacturers bring products to market faster.
In addition,Akulon® has excellent UV and moisture resistance, effectively preventing premature discoloration or wear of plugs without the use of flame retardant additives. The product portfolio offers a wide range of color options, enabling manufacturers to improve surface appearance without the use of expensive paints.
The high fluidity of Akulon® provides the design flexibility to accommodate additional components, such as cooling units, according to the needs of the original equipment manufacturer. This material is particularly suitable for small series production, allowing manufacturers to offer customized solutions to main machine plants. This series of innovative features is expected to promote the development of new energy vehicle charging equipment design, bringing safer, durable and well-looking charging guns to the industry.
