LYB Expands Laboratory Capacity at Suzhou Technology Center to Accelerate Innovation in Asia

LyondellBasell (LYB), a leading global chemical company dedicated to creating solutions for sustainable daily living, announced the commissioning of a new laboratory extrusion line at its Suzhou Technology Center and the upgrading of the processing workshop. This new equipment will support the company's High Performance Materials Solutions (APS) business, enhance the modification plastic capabilities, and facilitate the development of high-precision complex formulations for its polypropylene modification and engineering plastic product portfolio. 

The upgraded facilities are equipped with the most advanced extrusion machines and comprehensive laboratory equipment, specifically designed for advanced product analysis and performance testing. The key research and development areas include lightweight plastic vehicle body panels, color/material/surface treatment solutions, flame retardant technology, sustainable materials, and special resins. 
The LYB Suzhou Technology Center was established in Suzhou Industrial Park in 2013. Currently, it has a dedicated team of engineers, promoting customer-centric innovation in the region. Previously, the Suzhou Technology Center was also awarded the title of "Foreign-funded Research and Development Center" by the Suzhou Municipal Government, in recognition of its capabilities and achievements. 
This expansion has further strengthened LYB's broader Asia-Pacific innovation network, which also includes the company's recent investments in the Sinar and Barisan Port laboratories in Malaysia, as well as the Vardhola Technology Center in India.
